Function Room

For a meeting room with a difference, why not consider booking the Tithe Office at Oliver Cromwell’s House.

This atmospheric, 17th Century, oak panelled room, is perfect for a variety of meetings, away days, corporate or social functions. We also hire the whole house for filming purposes as well as Paranormal Investigations or team building exercises. We offer refreshments teas, coffees, and biscuits, plus a lunch menu of hot/cold platters, or sandwiches.

In Cromwell’s time, this is the very room where he would have sat to oversee the locals bringing corn and produce in order the pay their ‘tithes’ or taxes. In other words it was the Tax Office! Today, the Tithe Office has been restored to retain its character and charm and makes for an excellent function room venue.

We are happy to arrange tours of Oliver Cromwell’s House as part of your package or perhaps a city guided walk. Please enquire and we will endeavour to develop the best package for you.

Seating Capacity/Layout:
25 (theatre layout) or 20 (boardroom layout)

Cost
£25  per hour (plus VAT) during weekdays with a minimum of 2 hours.

£35 per hour  (plus VAT) after 5 pm on Weekdays and during the weekend.

Registered Charities – £15 per hour.

Projector, screen, flipchart, marker pens and other stationery included in hire.

Payment Details
25% deposit required in advance with full payment within
30 days of booking.

Refreshments:
Coffee, Tea & biscuitsare included in the hourly rate. Buffet lunch menu avaliable on request. Note the premise holds an alcohol licence.

Parking:
Unfortunately, there is no parking on the premises, but there are a variety of free car parks within easy walking distance. For unloading and loading parking for short period can be arranged.

Access
Due to the nature of the building, access is limited. Please enquire if you have specific access requirements or refer to our Accessibility Statement.

Terms and Conditions
  • Cancellation of a booking may initially be made by telephone but must be followed up in a email to info@visitely.org.uk stating your full name, address and booking date. Please refer to our Refund and Returns Policy for further details.
  • All visitors must be made aware of the fire exits and evacuation procedure. All fire exits must be kept clear at all times and fire regulation must be adhered to without exception.

Restriction to Admissions – Saturday 4th July 2026

Oliver Cromwell’s House will be closed to General Admissions between 12 Midday and 1pm due to a pre-booked Guided Tour.

Ely’s Tourist Information Centre and Gift Shop will remain open from 11am until 4 pm.

House Closure – Tuesday 15th September 2026

General Admission to Oliver Cromwell’s House will be unavailable today until 1 pm due to a pre-booked educational  tour.

The Tourist Information Centre and Gift Shop remain open between 10am and 5pm.

Admissions to Oliver Cromwell’s House – Friday 4th September 2026

Due to a pre-booked educational tour, there will be no general admission to Oliver Cromwell’s House from 1.30 pm.
The Gift Shop and Tourist Information Centre remain.
