Oliver Cromwell's House offers a wide range of costumed guided tours with our bank of trained guides.

Tours can be arranged for any number of visitors and can also be offered in French and German if requested in advance. We offer free places for coach drivers and tour organisers.

Coach Driver Information
Ely’s city centre can easily be reached via the A10 Cambridge – King’s Lynn and by following the brown visitors signs upon reaching your destination. We encourage coach drivers to use the drop off/pick up point either in front of Ely Tourist Information Centre (Oliver Cromwell’s House, CB7 4HF) or in front of the Cathedral (The Gallery CB7 4DH). Please be aware that these bays are limited to a 15-minute stay. Public toilets are within proximity to both drop off points. Free coach parking is located at Ely City Football Club, The Demcom Stadium, Downham Road, Ely CB6 2SH which is approximately 15 minutes from the city centre. Here there are several food outlets and toilets.

Restriction to Admissions – Saturday 4th July 2026

 

Oliver Cromwell’s House will be closed to General Admissions between 12 Midday and 1pm due to a pre-booked Guided Tour.

 

Ely’s Tourist Information Centre and Gift Shop will remain open from 11am until 4 pm.

House Closure – 25th February 2025

General Admission to Oliver Cromwell’s House will be delayed today until 1pm due to a pre-booked educational  tours.

The Tourist Information Centre and Gift Shop remain open between 11am and 4pm.

 

Admissions to Oliver Cromwell’s House – Tuesday 16th June 2026

 
 
Due to a pre-booked educational tour, there will be no General Admissions to Oliver Cromwell’s House between 12.30pm and 3pm today.
 
The Gift Shop and Tourist Information Centre remain.
