Oliver Cromwell’s House presents “Cromwell, Christmas and Confusion – an Audience with Professor Martyn Bennett” – part of the “Behind Closed Doors” Christmas Events Programme.

Oliver Cromwell’s House is possibly not the first place that springs to mind when you think about celebrating Christmas. It’s a well known “Fact” that Cromwell banned Christmas and all of the fun that went with it. Or did he? Was he the mean spirited man of modern myth? Did he really oppose the consumption of mince pies? Join us for an engaging, exciting and entertaining evening.

Professor Bennett has written a series of internationally acclaimed works on the English civil wars and a hugely popular biography of Oliver Cromwell. We have been incredibly fortunate to secure this time with Professor Bennett in-between American and UK filming commitments. His latest publication, Cromwell at War will be available to purchase on the night.

Tickets are priced at £10
